NEW DELHI, April 29: Sandeep Sharma of Jamia Millia Islamia University won his maiden men’s singles title when he toppled top seed and favourite Harsh Chopra of Food Corporation of India in five games in the final of the Chandravati Bhatnagar Memorial Manav Sthali Open Table Tennis Tournament at Talkatora Indoor Stadium here today.
The 21-year-old third seed defeated his practising partner in a dull encounter that was devoid of any thrill and excitement. The women’s title went to former international Nandini Kulkarni who defeated Pratima Sayal in five games.
