SOLAPUR, Oct 28: The Solapur Zilla Parishad will observe a takrar nivaran divas – grievances redressal day on November 2 for citizens and government employees, ZP chief executive officer Mahesh Jhagade said today.

Speaking to reporters here Jhagade said many times complaints lodged by citizens fail to evoke any response from the officials, which accelerates irregularities. Other districts will observe the day on Saturday, October 31.

To bring transparency in solving the problems and sorting out the complaints, CEOs have been assigned to other districts. Solapur ZP CEO Jhagade will be the chief officer of the Satara district on that day while CEO of Sangli S.K. Bhogade will be the chief of Solapur to look into the complaints.

Jhagade, however denied that the State Government has shown any distrust towards the CEOs by not allowing them to conduct hearings in their own districts. The move was resorted to ensure more transparency in the ZP functioning, he said. He also assured that corruption and irregularities will be eradicated from the ZP during his tenure.
