MUMBAI, FEB 18: Public-sector undertakings stole the limelight in the private placement market during the fortnight ended February 12, 1999 with cumulative bond offerings of Rs 2,385 crore, says Credence in its debt market review.
"The private placement market was flooded with activity during the fortnight, particularly during the latter half due to the simulteneous launch of four state-sponsored irrigation development corporation issues on 8 February," Credence said, adding: "Ironically corporates, of late seem to be not too keen on private placements mainly because of increased expectations of interest rates easing further".
