The US Embassy in Pakistan has been given consular access to the five American nationals,who were arrested by Pakistani authorities in Sargodha township in Punjab,last week.
“They received a Consular visit today,” State Department Deputy Spokesman Robert Wood told reporters today.
The Lahore High Court had yesterday ordered that pending further investigations these arrested individuals need not be deported to the United States.
“This was a routine consular visit,” Wood said.
