The Kolkata Police have summoned the IndusInd Bank vice-president (Investment Banking), M.V. Raju, in connection with the multi-crore securities scandal that rocked the Calcutta Stock Exchange (CSE) a year-and-a-half back, according to the deputy commissioner (detective department-I) of Kolkata Police, Soumen Mitra.

‘‘We have been informed that Raju is currently on leave. We have also been assured that he will turn up for interrogation immediately after he comes back from his leave,’’Mitra told reporters here Wednesday.

He said the Kolkata Police was working in close coordination with the ED in investigating the securities scam. ‘‘We are already exchanging necessary information,’’ Mitra said.

Mitra also that the Kolkata Police had, for the time being, completed the interrogation of Prakash Dalmia, father of the DSQ Software CMD, Dinesh Dalmia. ‘‘However, he might be called again for interrogation,’’Mitra said. The ED had recently interrogated Dinesh Dalmia, who is suspected to have made a foreign exchange violation when he allotted 14 million shares to three Mauritius-based OCBs. The purpose for the share allotment was intended to facilitate the acquisition of a San Jose-based company Fortuna Technologies.
