NEW DELHI, August 20: The 33rd edition of All-India Sardar Mohan Singh Hockey Tournament for school boys and girls will be held at the National Stadium here from September 16 to 30.

Prominent school teams from all over the country including defending champions BRC, Danapur and last year’s runner-up Fr Angel School, Delhi will vie for the honours.

Other prominent teams in the boys section are local giants Union Academy, Sports College (Lucknow), SAI Hostel (Gandhinagar) and STC (Jabalpur).

Defending champions for five straight years Guru Nanak Pritam Girls School, last year’s runner-up Arya High School (Sonepat), Government Girls High School (Patna) are the main contenders in girls section.

The winner and runner-up in both the sections will be awarded gold and silver trophies, respectively, and four best players in each section will be given special prizes.

A penalty corner conversion competition will also be held along with the main tournament.
