A hat-trick by Brazilian striker Eduardo d’Silva powered JCT to a 3-1 win against local giants East Bengal in the I-League here.
Eduardo scored in the 43rd, 67th and 82nd minutes while East Bengal got a consolation goal in the 50th minute, when their Brazilian recruit Edmilson converted a penalty.
JCT got into the act and took the lead with minutes to go for half time. Following a freekick, JCT’s midfield star Marcos Pereira sent the ball into the rival box and Eduardo placed the ball home neatly.
East Bengal drew level through a penalty, given when Edmilson was roughly tackled by Jaspal Singh inside the box.
