India and Saudi Arabia on Thursday agreed to work on increasing mutual investments on energy, petro-chemicals, infrastructure and chemicals. Speaking to External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee, his Saudi counterpart Prince Saud Al-Faisal said they discussed a wide range of bilateral, regional and international affairs. He also plans to call on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in the evening. The two sides reiterated the need to have a faster implementation of the Delhi Declaration. In particular, they felt that consultations between the two foreign offices should be conducted on a regular basis. Reiterating the need to further invigorate trade and investment relations, they discussed the need to increase mutual investment and set up a facility to promote such investments. The Saudi Foreign Minister briefed Mukherjee on the recent developments in West Asia, and the External Affairs Minister, on his part, updated him on latest developments in India’s neighbourhood. Saud Al-Faisal invited Mukherjee to visit Saudi Arabia.
