The jamaat of Mela Thirupoontiruthi town panchayat in Thanjavur district has slapped a fine of Rs 5,000 on Shahul Hameed Badusha for letting a Hindu Shivakumar ride pillion a few days ago.
Tha jamaat had earlier issued a fatwa, saying no Muslim should have any truck with Shivakumar, who is Shahul Hameed’s business partner in his cable TV business. Defying the diktat, Hameed took him on his two-wheeler on July 12. Shivakumar was a BJP functionary till recently.
