Robbed
Four unidentified people intercepted a truck (WB 23 3488) near Vaanjh village on the outskirts of the city on Sunday and escaped with Rs 20,000 after injuring three occupants of the truck, according to a complaint registered in the Sachin police station by truck driver Dukhansingh Rajput. Rajput alleged that their truck was intercepted by four people, aged between 25 and 30, travelling in a red Maruti van. The accused beat up the truck occupants and escaped with the booty. A case under section 394 of the IPC has been registered, the police said, adding no arrests have been made so far.
Valuables stolen
Gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 2 lakh were reported stolen from a house in the Rander Road area on Saturday night, according to the police. Santosh Joshi, a resident of Balajikrupa Society, in a complained claimed that some unidentified persons broke into his locked house, number B-52, and decamped with the valuables. A music system was also stolen, he said. A case of housebreaking under sections 454, 457 and 380 has been registered at the police station.
Vehicles stolen
Two vehicles, a Hero Honda motorcycle and a Bajaj Super scooter were reported stolen in two separate cases of vehicle thefts registered at the Mahidharpura and Salabatpura police stations on Sunday. Suresh Jain, a resident of Alayani Wadi in Mahidharpura reported that his Hero Honda motorcycle (GJ 15 D 8149) was stolen from the parking space of Pancsheel Apartments. In another case of vehicle theft, a Bajaj scooter (GJ 5 HH 4803) was stolen from the compound of Gopi Market in Salabatpura area, according to owner Pradeep Kullwani. Cases under IPC 379 have been registered and investigations are on, the police said.
