NEW DELHI, April 20: A city court today directed Delhi police commissioner to file an action taken report (ATR) by May 2 on the alleged showing of "horror serials" by a popular private TV network saying they were "detrimental to children’s mental health".

Metropolitan Magistrate Rajesh Aggarwal, in his order said "horror programmes" and their advertisements in between other serials on Zee TV network were "obviously not meant for small children".

The MM directed the police commissioner to find out if there was any control over showing the programmes and the advertisements under the Cinematographic Act or, if there was any requirement of grant of any licence for such shows. The court has also sent a copy of the order to the director of Zee TV.
