The Bofors case may not be over yet. The Supreme Court on Tuesday admitted a PIL challenging the Delhi High Court order discharging Europe-based Hinduja brothers and the Swedish firm Krtongen Kemi Forwalting AB, popularly known as AB Bofors, in the case.

A bench, headed by Chief Justice R C Lahoti, issued notices to the CBI and the Hindujas, and granted petitioner Advocate Ajay Agrawal permission to seek an early hearing on the matter. The court admitting the PIL is a rebuff for the CBI and in turn the Centre, which had so far dilly-dallied on the issue of challenging the May 31 Delhi High Court verdict.

Agrawal claimed that he had moved the SC as the CBI had failed to challenge the order within the 90-limitation period, expired on September 16.
