Kerala Chief Minister A.K. Antony today challenged his political detractors for a trial of strength in the Assembly and asserted that he had no intention to ‘‘throw the chief ministership away to enable the CPM to realise its dream.’’
‘‘Those who want to remove me can try it during the coming Assembly session in January and February,’’ he said after the Cabinet meeting today.
The Chief Minister said he was least perturbed by the opinion of a section in the party that he should be removed from the post. ‘‘In a democracy, everyone is free to have their own opinion,’’ he said.
When asked what was the basis of his confidence, Antony said: ‘‘It is the support of the majority of MLAs.’’
