Viswanathan Anand downed his Spanish practice partner Francisco Pons Vallejo 2-0 in the third round of the 14th Amber blindfold and rapid chess tournament at here.

Maintaining his all-win record in the tournament, Anand took his tally to an enviable 6/6 and stretched his overnight slender lead to a huge two points in this unique event being played on a round-robin basis between 12 players with one rapid and one blindfold game in each round.

His nearest rival Peter Svidler of Russia drew with compatriot Alexander Morozevich after a tough fight in the blindfold and later lost the rapid game to inch to 4 points out of a possible six.

Giving Svidler company in joint second spot are compatriot Vladimir Kramnik, Ukrainian Vassily Ivanchuk and Corus champion Peter Leko of Hungary.

Anand also has a full point lead in the rapid section over Leko, Ivanchuk and former winner Alexander Morozevich of Russia but in the blindfold Vladimir Kramnik is running neck-n-neck with all victories. The widely followed three-in-one event carries a total prize fund of Euros 193250.
