NEW DELHI, June 24: A 17-year-old girl reportedly committed suicide in her Jawaharlal Nehru university campus house around 11 a.m. this morning. Deepa, daughter of a J.N.U. employee, was reportedly depressed over her failure in the class X examinations conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Board. The results of the examinations were declared yesterday. She reportedly hung herself from the ceiling fan with a sari in her 306 Paschimabad house in the university campus today.
There was no one present in the house at the time of the incident. The police said: “The deceased had reportedly flunked the exams three times consecutively and could not tolerate failure for the third time.”
