ICW 2023: Ranbir Kapoor turns up the heat in fusion ‘lungi’ pants for Kunal Rawal’s show

The look was kept simple with only Ranbir’s shiny black shoes acting as an accessory. His hair was perfectly gelled up to keep out of the way and his beard groomed making the actor look like a real-life prince in his ensemble.

“Actor Ranbir Kapoor turned showstopper for couturier Kunal Rawal on Day 4 of the Hyundai India Couture Week in association with Reliance Brands,” read the caption on the video FDCI shared of Ranbir walking down the runway.

The “Dhup Chao” collection by Kunal is a journey through time that draws inspiration from Rawal’s iconic rise. “We have crafted modern-day heirlooms which stand on the right side of history and put India’s vibrancy in the spotlight. One of the key aspects of the collection is that it pays homage to our country and the many cultures embedded within it,” the collection note read.

Interestingly, designer JJ Valaya also debuted his collection, “Baroda,” alongside Kunal.

Since the start of fashion week on July 25, it has been making news for all the right reasons, whether it was Kiara Advani’s pink lehenga set for Falguni Shane Peacock or Janhvi Kapoor’s Bawaal making lehenga from designer Gaurav Gupta.

Bollywood actors have, time and again, given up their trousers for a lungi look. From Ranveer Singh, the late Irrfan Khan to Dhanush and Hrithik Roshan, celebrities have donned the garment in style.
