Delivering his 12th consecutive and longest Independence Day address from the ramparts of the Red Fort, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday reaffirmed his commitment to building a Viksit Bharat by 2047. “We will not stop or bend until we build a ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047,” he said.
PM Modi also lauded India’s achievements in the space and technology sectors. He hailed the soldiers involved in Operation Sindoor and reminded Pakistan that “blood and water cannot flow together.”
The Prime Minister further made it clear that India will not tolerate Pakistan’s nuclear blackmail.
📌 “Self-reliance is not limited to trade. It is about our own capability. If we weren’t self-reliant, would Operation Sindoor have been such a success?”
📌 “India has decided, we will not tolerate any nuclear blackmail,” said Prime Minister Modi in his address to the nation. “Water and blood cannot flow together,” he added.
📌 “Nature is putting us all to the test… In recent days, we have witnessed a series of devastating events, landslides, cloudbursts and numerous other calamities. Our heartfelt condolences and solidarity are with those who have been affected.”
📌 “A big part of the Budget is spent on importing oil, petrol, and diesel. If we weren’t dependent, that money could have been used for my country, for farmers, and for the poor. But we are working on becoming self-reliant in this aspect.”
📌 “We have decided to make India self-reliant in energy; taking several initiatives in solar, hydrogen, nuclear sectors.”
📌 “This is a chance to move forward, to see dreams. The government is with you. I am with you.”
📌 “We are working towards being self-reliant in the space sector. We are making efforts to build our own space station… 300 startups are working only in the space sector now.”
📌 “… Viksit Bharat ka aadhar bhi hai Aatmanirbhar Bharat… If someone becomes too dependent on others, the very question of freedom starts to fade… Aatmanirbhar is not limited merely to imports, exports, rupees, pounds, or dollars. Its meaning is far broader. Aatmanirbhar is directly connected to our strength…”
📌 PM Modi called upon youths to develop India’s own social media and digital platforms. “I want to plead all influencers to help me take this vision forward.” “Vocal for local should be every Indian’s motto.”
📌 “We have reduced the tax burden in the country over the last 8 years. We made taxation easier,” said PM Modi. “This Diwali, we are bringing next-gen GST reforms. Everyday items will become cheaper.”
📌 “I know what poverty is…I didn’t have to read it in books. I have also been in the government. I believed that government should not remain in files, but should be present in the lives of the citizens,” said PM Modi. “Government should be pro-people. We are working on this consistently.
📌 “The farmers of India are our biggest priority. Modi stands like a wall against any harmful policy related to them. India will not accept any agreement regarding its farmers, cattle rearers and fishermen.”
📌 “We have chosen the path of Lord Krishna’s Sudarshan Chakra. India is launching ‘Sudarshan Chakra Mission’… a powerful weapon system that will not only neutralise the enemy’s attack but also strike back.”
📌 “We will not stop or bend until we build a ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047,” said PM Modi. “We will gain freedom from all kinds of slavery.”
