Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, at New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport on Monday evening. The two leaders were seen holding hands and sharing a warm embrace as Modi extended his greetings.
External Affairs Minister of India S Jaishankar was also present at the airport to welcome him.

The Amir is on a two-day visit to India at the invitation of the Prime Minister, which will conclude on February 18. According to the foreign ministry, Al-Thani is accompanied by a high-level delegation, including ministers, senior officials, and business leaders.

During his visit, he is scheduled to meet President Droupadi Murmu and hold discussions with PM Modi to further strengthen bilateral ties between India and Qatar. The Amir will also receive a ceremonial welcome at Rashtrapati Bhawan on February 18.
This marks Al-Thani’s second state visit to India, following his first trip in 2015.
