25-year-old sets mother on fire after she refuses him Rs 10

Kadiam police arrested the offender and have registered a case in this regard.

A 25-year-old youth today allegedly set ablaze his mother when she refused to give him Rs 10 in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh,police said.

T Ambedkar (25),residing with his mother Durgabai (50) at Kadiyapulanka village in Kadiam mandal of the district,asked his mother to give him Rs 10 to make a purchase some item which she refused,they said.

Ambedkar then poured kerosene on his mother set her afire,police said adding she received 40 per burn injuries and has been admitted in a corporate hospital at Rajahmundry for treatment.

The youth’s father works in the postal department,police said.

Kadiam police subsequently arrested the youth and have registered a case in this regard.
