Jharkhand BJP president Babulal Marandi wrote to the state DGP on Tuesday — his second letter in the last one month — seeking security to his political adviser, Sunil Tiwary, over alleged death threats. He alleged that there is “imminent danger and possibility of malicious political retaliation” against Tiwary.

Tiwary also wrote to the state authorities, including the DGP, on September 11, alleging that a “lobby involved in corruption under patronage of the government” is threatening him.

Marandi wrote, “The subject matter is serious. There are many recent examples of such cases in which even after written information (to police) about a threat, nothing was done and the affected person was murdered.”

He had earlier written on August 14, stating that it is “embarrassing and shameful for the bureaucracy” to not reply to his earlier letters.
