Two days after the UP government sent its recommendation to the central government for a CBI inquiry into the death of 27-year-old Sara, wife of Samajwadi Party leader Amanmani Tripathi, her family members met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh in Delhi on Sunday, seeking his assistance to speed up action on the government proposal.
Sara’s mother, Seema Singh, who went to Rajnath’s residence along with her son Harsh, said, “He said he was aware of the whole matter. I requested him to get the CBI inquiry initiated as soon as possible because Amarmani will try to save his son. The home minister assured his assistance.”

She said she has also handed him an application which contains the 19 points indicating towards foul play in Sara’s death.
While Amanmani has said that Sara died in the road accident on July 9, Sara’s family alleged that she was killed by Amanmani, son of jailed former minister Amarmani Tripathi, and his family members, who had failed to accept their marriage that took place on July 13.
An FIR has been lodged against Amanmani, and his family members for murder.
Amanmani is currently lodged in Lucknow jail in connection with a case of kidnapping lodged against him last year.
