Nagaland: Don’t buy Maggi, govt tells people

Nagaland is yet to impose a ban on sale, storage, distribution and consumption of Maggi noodles because of the delay in getting a report from the food analyst. But it has asked the people not to purchase and consume Maggi noodles till a final report was out.

Neikietuo Chiesotsu, principal director and additional food safety commissioner of the state health directorate, gave out the public advisory through a press release issued in Kohima. The public have been advised not to purchase and or consume Maggi noodles till further orders, he said.

The official also directed all chief medical officers and food safety officers of the districts to conduct inspection and collect samples of Maggi noodles from their respective districts and send them to the state public health laboratory in Kohima as quickly as possible.
