German President to visit India in February

German President Joachim Gauck will visit India from February 4 to 9 during which he will travel to Delhi and Bangalore. During his visit, sources said, he will focus on the vast spectrum of relations with India — Germany’s strategic partner. “Political talks as well as meetings with representatives of civil society, visits to companies, a school and a development cooperation project figure prominently on his agenda in New Delhi and Bangalore,” sources said. Gauck will be accompanied by a minister in the German cabinet, members of Parliament and a high-ranking business delegation.
