Two people were today arrested for allegedly smuggling narcotic drugs worth Rs 2.88 crore in international market out of the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport here.
The duo,identified as Akhtar Hussain and Aamir Khan,were apprehended by a CISF squad when they were about to board a flight to Guwahati,an airport security official said.
The contraband has been identified as ‘pseudo ephedrine’ and 60kgs of it has been seized,the official said.
The CISF immediately called up the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) sleuths who arrested the duo under anti-narcotics laws.
The consignment is worth Rs 48 lakh in domestic market while its equivalent is Rs 2.88 crore in the international market.
