With the court ordering registration of a case against Karnataka minister KJ George and two senior police officers in connection with the suicide of Deputy Superintendent of Police MK Ganapati, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Monday said the question of the minister’s resignation does not arise.

“I am yet to get a copy of the court order, after getting it, we will take a decision and let you know,” the Chief Minister told reporters in Bengaluru.

When specifically asked if George would tender his resignation, he said, “that question does not arise immediately because without looking into the copy of the order, we cannot express any opinion.”

He lashed out at the opposition for not cooperating with the government, saying they were not interested in solving problems of the state.

George earlier said he is hundred percent sure that he will come out clean.

“Whatever the court decides, we will abide by that. I am hundred percent sure I will come out clean,” he said.

Leader of the Opposition Jagadish Shettar had last week said that an impartial investigation could not be conducted as long as George remained a minister. He also said the two police officers named in the complaint should be suspended to ensure a fair investigation.
