Mumbai: Jewellery worth Rs 80 lakh stolen from Kiran Rao’s home

DIAMOND JEWELLERY worth Rs 80 lakh was stolen from the Carter Road residence of film producer, screenwriter and director Kiran Rao. A case has been registered at Khar police station. Police are yet to arrest the culprit. Police said Kiran Rao, who is married to Bollywood actor Amir Khan, had kept a diamond necklace and a ring at her residence last month but found them missing on November 23.

A complaint was filed at Khar police station the next day under Section 380 (theft in dwelling house) of the IPC.

“We don’t have any suspects yet, but are probing the matter and looking at all possible angles,” said Ramchandra Jadhav, senior police inspector at Khar police station.
