J&K: Three militants killed in Kupwara encounter, says Army

As the search operation was going on, the militants opened fire on the security personnel who retaliated. In the ensuing gunfight, three militants have been killed, the army official said.

In the other encounter, three militants were killed in Drugmulla area in the evening, the official added.

The exchange of firing is going on intermittently, the official said adding the operation is still on.

Over 190 people, including 47 security personnel and 108 militants, were killed in militancy-related violence and ceasefire violations by Pakistan in the 12-month period from January 15, 2015.
