The chief guest, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, honoured the courageous women mountaineers with cash awards, lauding their grit, determination, and indomitable spirit.

A grand flag-in ceremony of the All-Women Mountaineering Expedition to Mount Nun was held on Saturday at the ITBP Headquarters.

Director General (ITBP), Rahul Rasgotra highlighted the remarkable feat in which 14 women mountaineers of ITBP, led by Assistant Commandant Bhanita, successfully summited Mount Nun (Ladakh, 7,135 meters) on August 14 this year.

“This historic achievement not only adds a new chapter to ITBP’s glorious legacy of mountaineering excellence but also stands as a landmark in the journey of women empowerment,” he said. The chief guest, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, honoured the courageous women mountaineers with cash awards, lauding their grit, determination, and indomitable spirit.
