Elections to three Kerala RS seats on June 25

Elections for three Rajya Sabha seats in Kerala will be held June 25, the Election Commission said Monday.

The three seats will fall vacant upon the retirement of MPs Binoy Viswam, Elamaram Kareem and Jose K Mani on July 1.

The EC also announced the by-election for one RS seat from Maharashtra due to the resignation of NCP MP Praful Patel on February 27.

The by-poll would be held on June 25 as well.

Patel’s term was till July 4, 2028, but he resigned as he was re-nominated for another term till 2030 following the split in the NCP.
