Combined Pre-Medical Test (CPMT) admission forms of over a thousand candidates, seeking admission to medical colleges, have been rejected due to alleged laxity in processing of forms.
The last date of submission of forms was April 11,however,the forms of as many as one thousand candidates could not reach the university till the last day of submission, resulting in their rejection.
“I have full sympathies with the students and have apprised the UP Principal Secretary (Health) Kapil Dev of their problems and he will discuss the matter with the concerned university.
“All the necessary steps will be taken to solve their problems,” District Magistrate Hari Om said.
Protesting the rejection of their forms, the agitated candidates staged a dharna today and blamed the post office and the university for “laxity” in processing their forms.
“We dispatched the forms on April 7 by the speed post, however, the forms didn’t reach the university by the last date of submission.
“It is unfortunate that after spending so much of money and time,we will not be able to appear in the exam. Our hard work has been wasted,” Vipin Singh,an aspiring candidate said.
“We are not aware of the issue,as no one has approached us till now. We will for sure conduct an inquiry if there is a complain in this regard,” said Ram Bharosa Post Master General of Kanpur General Post Office (GPO).
Meanwhile,District Magistrate has appealed to the protesting candidates not to take law into their hands and assured them that the issue would be resolved soon.
