A four-year-old girl was murdered and her mother and younger brother were poisoned by unidentified persons in their rented residence in central Delhi,police said today.
The incident,which took place in Patel Nagar last night,came to light when the girls father Amarnath came home from work.
Sunena was found dead with her throat slit while her mother Sushila and brother Somnath (2) were lying unconscious when Amarnath,who is working in a private firm,returned home.
Amarnath entered the house only to see his wife and son lying on the floor unconscious. He then found his daughter lying in a pool of blood, a senior police officer said.
All of them were rushed to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital where Sunena was declared brought dead. Sushila and Somnath were undergoing treatment and doctors have said they were in a critical condition.
Police suspect the involvement of a neighbour as he was found missing after the incident.
