Chetak helicopter crashes at naval air station in Kochi, 1 dead

According to an official statement, the accident occurred during maintenance taxi checks at naval air station INS Garuda.

A ground staff member of the Indian Navy died on Saturday after a Chetak helicopter crashed at the runway of the naval air station, INS Garuda in Kochi.

The deceased person has been identified as Yogendra Singh.

According to an official statement, the accident occurred during maintenance taxi checks. It added that a Board of Inquiry has been directed to investigate the cause of the accident.


According to sources quoted by PTI, The Indian Navy chopper, which was on a training flight, crashed soon after the lift off.
