Taking a jibe at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his Kedarnath yatra, Uttarakhand BJP spokesperson Suresh Joshi questioned the timing of his visit which comes just ahead of elections in five states and said “those who have never seen a Ramlila in their life are applying tilak to Shri Ram and paying obeisance at Baba Kedarnath’s court”.

Uttarakhand Congress chief spokesperson Garima Mehra Dasauni said that Rahul’s visit is absolutely “personal”.

Welcoming Rahul’s Kedar-Badri tour, BJP said it is the result of the growing power of 100 crore Sanatanis. Joshi said that although he welcomes Rahul’s expression of faith in Sanatan, but Congress leaders engaged in propaganda against the Sanatan culture in other parts of the country. Hitting back, AICC member Suryakant Dhasmana said BJP leaders should learn from Rahul’s dignified conduct over the last two days.
