Samay Raina and Ranveer Allahbadia’s India’s Got Latent controversy keeps deepening day by day. Even after the former deleted all the episodes of the show from his YouTube channel, the widespread outrage hasn’t silenced yet. Amid the row, YouTuber Shwetabh Gangwar has now revealed that he talked to the comedian who is “scared and depressed.”
In a now-deleted video, Shwetabh shared that he spoke to his friend Samay over a phone call recently and he sounded very low. “Bhaisahab, toota hua hai vo insaan (He is a broken man). When the controversy first erupted, I could still see the old Samay in him, but when I spoke to him last time, I saw a broken man… depressed, sad, scared,” he said.
He further added that he took a break from social media because he felt helpless, as he couldn’t support Samay openly during this difficult phase. “I was emotionally drained. I couldn’t see my friend like that,” stated the Youtuber. Shwetabh also mentioned that the other panelists on that episode, including, Ranveer, Apoorva Mukhija, and Ashish Chanchlani were also going through tough times.
Meanwhile, during Ranveer Allahbadia’s Supreme Court hearing on Monday, without directly naming Samay Raina, Justice Surya Kant called out the younger generation for being “oversmart”. The court said, “These youngsters are being oversmart. One of them went to Canada and spoke about all of this… they don’t know what can be done. We don’t want to (act), because they are young, we understand,” according to Live Law. This comes after Samay joked about the controversy in his recent London show. He mentioned that ticket sales were helping pay his lawyer’s fees.
