The National Institution of Technology, Raipur inaugurated in 1963 has finally made an entry under the architecture category. The institute failed to secure a rank under the category from the last five years but in NIRF 2024, it is ranked under the top 40, with a spot of 36.
While under the engineering category, NIT Raipur achieved a rank of 71 while in NIRF 2023, it was 70. In 2023, the institute had a decline of 5 positions as compared to the NIRF 2022 ranking.
However, NIT Raipur is the only engineering, along with IIT Bhilai to secure even a top 100 score in the engineering category of NIRF ranking 2023 from Chhattisgarh. While NIT Raipur secured a higher position of 11 compared to 81 ranks of IIT Bhilai in the same category.
Additionally in NIRF 2024, the Indian Institute of Technology Bhilai ranked 73. Both NIT Raipur and IIT Bhilai could not secure a position in the QS World University Ranking 2025 and the Time Higher Education Ranking 2024 (THE).

NIT Raipur secured 70 rank in the NIRF 2024 engineering category with obtaining a 57.83 score in teaching, learning and resources (TRL), 40.80 in research and professional practice (RPC), 65.98 in graduation outcomes (GO), 56.96 in outreach and inclusivity (OI) and 3.91
in perception (PR) all out of 100.
Let’s also look at the scores of IIT Bilhai in all other categories: TRL, GO, OI, and PR. IIT Bilhai’s scores in these categories were 76.71, 19.93 , 65.71, and 7.48, respectively.
