Releasing on October 12,Anurag Kashyap’s next directorial venture,Chittagong, will feature Pune-boy Delzad Hiwale in a lead role. The film is based on a true story of a Jhunku Roy,a 14 year-old boy and of his journey to find a place where he belongs. The action-drama is set against the background of 1930s British India,While the world is turned upside down and the leaders of the freedom movement are progressively killed,the boy is confronted to his own doubts. Hiwale,plays the character of Jhunku Roy ‘Chittagong’ and had the privilege to work with some popular figures like Manoj Bajpayi,Barry John and Nawazzudin Siddiqui. Born and brought up in Pune,Hiwale learnt the art of acting from Natyakala Institute of Pune and was picked by casting director Honey Trehan for the film. The adolescent actor was nominated for the best young actor for two consecutive years at the New York Indian Film Festival held in May every year. The highlights of his career include television commercials with Anushka Sharma for Reliance and the Mirinda commercial with Asin.
