Rammed by vehicle,cop’s body found in nullah

Body of police constable Sunil Anant Mahashabde (48),who died in a road accident,was recovered from a nullah near Ganga Satellite in Wanowrie around 9 am on Saturday.

Body of police constable Sunil Anant Mahashabde (48),who died in a road accident,was recovered from a nullah near Ganga Satellite in Wanowrie around 9 am on Saturday. The Wanowrie police have registered an offence against unidentified person.

According to the police,Mahashabde was passing by the road near Ganga Satellite,when an unidentified vehicle knocked him down. In the impact,Mahashabde,along with his motorcycle,fell into the nullah. The exact time of the accident is not yet ascertained. The police said that post mortem report of Mahashabde said he received a head injury. Police sub inspector Sachin Patil is investigating the case.

Mahashabde joined the police force on April 17,1986. He served in various police departments and was attached to Wanowrie police station. He had received 60 prizes for his contribution in detections of various crimes.
