In its continued effort to safeguard government land, the Dehu Road Cantonment Board successfully conducted an encroachment removal drive recently and demolished an unauthorised structure measuring approximately 10,000 sq ft of land classified as B-4 Government Land under GLR Sy. No. 81, officials said.
The demolition was conducted following due process under the Public Premises (Eviction of Unauthorized Occupants) Act to ensure legal compliance and transparency.
“The Cantonment Board remains committed to protecting defence land from illegal occupation and will continue to take stringent action against all encroachments within its jurisdiction. The Board remains committed to taking strict action against encroachments and unauthorized constructions on government land,” said CEO Pushpanjali Rawat in a press release.
“Encroachments on government land will not be tolerated. We are dedicated to maintaining the integrity of public property and will continue such drives to reclaim encroached areas. Strict legal measures will be enforced against violators,” Rawat said.
The Cantonment Board has urged citizens to respect government land regulations and cooperate in maintaining the lawful use of public property. Any unauthorised construction will be met with strict legal action, the CEO said.
The CEO has appealed to all occupiers of encroached land to vacate the premises voluntarily. “This will help in avoiding any inconvenience or loss due to demolition. The Board will continue its efforts to reclaim government land and ensure that public properties are protected from illegal occupation,” the CEO said.
