A 50-YEAR-OLD man and a 27-year-old woman, both from Kalburgi district in Karnataka, allegedly died by suicide by jumping in front of a train at Pune railway station on Tuesday morning.
The incident took place on the track near platform number four of the Pune railway station around 7.30am on Tuesday. The two suddenly jumped in front of a moving train and were killed on the spot.The two suddenly jumped in front of a moving train and were killed on the spot.
An officer from Pune unit of the Government Railway Police said that in a bag that was found near the bodies, the Aadhaar cards of the two were recovered. The two have been identified as Hirgappa Sharanappa Jamadar (50) and Soaumashari Siddhalinga Madde (27), both natives of Zalki Budruk in Kalburgi district. Police also found two tickets of Kurduwadi to Pune railway station.
“We are trying to contact their next of kin. We have also approached the local police at their native place. A probe has been launched and a case has been registered at Pune GRP police station,” said an officer.
