Actor Seema Biswas to star in film by FTII student

Biswas is acting in a diploma film tentatively titled Hide and Seek,directed by FTII final year student Dr Manoj K Nitharwal.

Award-winning actor Seema Biswas interacted with students of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII),Pune,on Tuesday afternoon. Biswas is acting in a diploma film tentatively titled Hide and Seek,directed by FTII final year student Dr Manoj K Nitharwal.

The short film,which will be around 30 minutes in length,revolves around the life of a teenage boy from an upper-middle class family and his journey through the underbelly of a slum,where he gets a glimpse into the private life of two women.

The character of the vulnerable,yet ferocious old woman,Amma,is being portrayed by Biswas. Noted Marathi actor Dr Mohan Agashe will be seen in the role of a grandfather with dementia in the film.

After the shoot,Biswas interacted with FTII students. She spoke about acting methods she had picked up at the National School of Drama,and shared anecdotes about her films,such as Bandit Queen,Khamoshi and Midnight’s Children. Nitharwal’s last project,Mukhbir,was screened at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) earlier this year.
