Students from minority communities to get scholarships to study abroad

According to the officials, the scholarship will be open to the students who are eligible for unconditional admission to a postgraduate PhD program at an overseas academic institution ranked within the top 200 in the QS World Ranking.

The Maharashtra Cabinet on Tuesday approved a scheme which will provide scholarships for foreign education of 27 students from the minority communities.

According to the officials, the scholarship will be open to the students who are eligible for unconditional admission to a postgraduate PhD program at an overseas academic institution ranked within the top 200 in the QS World Ranking.

“An expenditure of Rs10.80 crore was sanctioned for the scheme during the meeting. There will be a total of 10 scholarships for Science, Technology, Engineering, six each for Medicine and Biology, Liberal Arts and Humanities, three for Agriculture and two for Law and Commerce course,” the official said.
