THE MAHARASHTRA Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) has asked the Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL) to measure the height of ‘World One’, a tower coming up in the city as part of the Lodha Group’s The World Towers project.
The November 13 order of the MahaRERA — two hearings were conducted by the regulator on October 31 and November 5 — comes after a complaint was lodged by Manvi Computech Private Limited, accusing the promoters of indulging in irregularities to get approvals for the project. The order directed the developers to coordinate with MIAL to have the height of the tower verified before the next hearing on November 30.
“…Respondent No1 (Shreeniwas Cotton Mills Ltd) to cooperate and provide help to Respondent No 8 (MIAL) to carry out the said measurement. Accordingly, the said matter is now scheduled to be held on November 30, at 11 am,” it stated.
When contacted, a spokesperson of the Lodha Developers Private Limited, said: “The case has been filed by an investor who is unable or unwilling to pay the balance amount and hence, has leveled all kinds of baseless allegations. The building has been constructed within the permissible height limit. Further, in 2017, the Delhi High Court had passed an order in our favor in related matter and we are awaiting implementation of the same.”
“We have coordinated with MIAL to have the height verified before the next hearing, as directed by the MahaRERA. The very fact that a simple order, dated just yesterday, asking for the height to be confirmed has been leaked to the media, shows the malafide intent of the complainant,” he added.
