20-year-old man held for raping school girl he met on Snapchat

On April 13, the accused called the girl to a place in Mumbai. The accused took her to his 16-year-old cousin’s place as there was no one at the house, police said.

At his cousin’s house, the accused youth allegedly raped the minor girl. His minor cousin, who was also present there, molested the girl, said a police source.

After the girl told her parents about the incident, they approached the police station concerned.

The police recorded girl’s statement based on which an FIR was registered Sunday against the youth and his cousin under relevant sections of the IPC and the POCSO Act.

On Sunday, the accused was arrested while the minor was detained and would be send to a correction home for children, police said.
