Owing to clash with the NEET -UG exam, the MHT-CET (PCM Group) will not be held on May 5, as per the revised schedule declared by the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell last week.

Revised dates will be announced soon by the CET Cell.

On last Friday, the Maharashtra CET Cell had declared a revised schedule for all CETs to be conducted for admissions of academic year 2024-25.

Even as the notice issued by the CET Cell did not specify the reason for the revised time-table for all CETs, it is likely because of the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

But in the revised time-table, the dates for MHT-CET 2024 for the PCM (Physics Chemistry Maths) group includes May 5 which is the date when National Eligibility cum Entrance Test – Undergraduate (NEET-UG) is going to be held.

“Multiple parents approached the Cell with requests to avoid the clash as there are a considerable number of students appearing for both. Accordingly, it was decided that MHT-CET (PCM Group) will not be held on May 5 and revised dates will be announced soon,” told an official from the CET Cell adding that there is no other change in the revised schedule declared by the CET Cell including dates of MHT-CET Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB) group.

One of the parents said, “There are some students who prepare for both to keep options. They study general PCMB for Class 12th so they can appear for NEET, JEE as well as MHT-CET (PCM). Thus, it was informed to the CET Cell to avoid clashing of the exams.”
