Fire in Dadar commercial building

The incident took place around 5 pm Saturday in Naman Midtown.

A major fire broke out in a 15-storey commercial building near Dadar flower market on Tulsi Pipe Road, Dadar (West). However, no causalities have been reported. The incident took place around 5 pm Saturday in Naman Midtown. Eight fire engines and five water tankers were used in the operation and the fire was doused in one hour.  Thereafter, cooling operations continued for the next four hours.

“We managed to rescue 24 persons who were trapped in the building. The fire erupted on the first floor and spread up to the 13th floor. We will investigate the cause of the fire and assess the building’s fire safety systems on Sunday,” said Deputy Chief Fire Officer S A Kale.
