Court rejects plea for online bifocal option

Granting no relief to a student seeking admission to the first-year junior college in science faculty,the Bombay High Court on Wednesday dismissed a petition seeking the option of bifocal sciences as a separate stream for online admissions.

Granting no relief to a student seeking admission to the first-year junior college in science faculty,the Bombay High Court on Wednesday dismissed a petition seeking the option of bifocal sciences as a separate stream for online admissions. At present,subjects under the bifocal sciences are offered as a sub-stream under the science and commerce faculties.

The intervention of the court at this stage would largely disrupt the process of admission, Justice D Y Chandrachud and Justice R D Dhanuka observed.
