The results of the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2013 were declared Tuesday. Andhra Pradesh topped the list with 4 toppers (100 percentilers) — one each from Hyderabad, Samalkot, Secunderabad and Vijayawada, followed by Mumbai on second slot with three toppers and New Delhi with one.
Eight students got 100 percentile scores in CAT 2013, as compared to previous year’s 10. A total of 1,93,500 candidates had appeared in the 25-day testing window, from October 16 to November 11, 2013.
Abhiram Iyer, 23, one of the toppers from Mumbai said, “It feels great to have scored 100 percentile. I had prepared an excel sheet which had all the formulae and basic concepts. It helped me a lot in preparing for the exam.”
Iyer has completed a dual degree in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Madras. Originally from Mumbai, Iyer is currently working in Chennai. This was Iyer’s third attempt in cracking CAT. He had scored 99.4 and 98.99 in his last two attempts.
“Eight candidates scored 100 percentile this year. Ten candidates have scored in 99.99 percentile bracket,” said CAT 2013 convener Professor Rohit Kapoor from IIM Indore.
