Car rams into truck,1 dies

A 23-year-old man died on Saturday after the car he was driving rammed into a truck parked near Bellevue junction on Linking Road in Andheri West.

A 23-year-old man died on Saturday after the car he was driving rammed into a truck parked near Bellevue junction on Linking Road in Andheri West. Inspector Vijay Kadam of Amboli police station said,The accident took place around 5.30 am when the victim,Vaibhav Talwalkar,a resident of Bandra,was returning home from Oshiwara. At the Bellevue Hospital junction,a taxi coming from Linking Road took a right turn and came in the way of Talwalkars Honda City. Talwalkars vehicle scraped the taxi and in order to avoid a collision with it,Talwalkar took a left turn and rammed into a truck parked by the side of the road.

Talwalkar,a college student,was rushed to Cooper Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. The driver of the taxi,Adam Siddiqui (46),has been arrested.

A post-mortem will be done to determine whether Talwalkar was under the influence of alcohol, said Kadam. Family of the victim was not available for comment.
