A day after two youths fired at a man who was trying to stop them from running away after harassing a woman,the Model Town police said they were on the lookout for the accused.
On Monday,Kanwaljit Singh,who is a resident of Sant Fateh Singh Nagar Dugri,was at this market with his wife when two unidentified youths began harassing her. Jagdeep Singh,who was crossing the area at that time in his Innova car,tried to stop these youths who shot at him and hit him in his thigh. Jagdeep is undergoing treatment at the local Deep Hospital.
Model Town SHO Ashok Kumar said,We will soon be releasing the sketches of the accused. While the public has told us that the accused were travelling in a white Ford Figo car,no one saw the number plate of the car. We will be sending for forensic tests the bullet that the doctors have taken out from the thigh of the injured.
We have many leads at present. By late tonight,we will be able to come up with something concrete, the SHO added.
