The post-mortem examination report of Rahul Verma, who was killed brutally on Monday in South City area, has revealed 19 wounds with sharp edged weapons and a fractured leg. His sister is still battling for life in DMCH and Rahul’s last rites were performed on Tuesday.
“Had only loot been the motive of the killers, he would not have been killed so brutally. We are gathering clues and will solve the case soon,” said Police Commissioner Nirmal Singh Dhillon. The girl is still not in the condition to give statement to the police, they said.
Lawyers block Ferozepur road, demand parking space
Ludhiana: Demanding parking space at New Courts Complex, lawyers blocked Ferozepur Road on Tuesday. They were demanding removal of Mal-Khana (the place to store property of cases) from the court complex and to use the land for parking their vehicles.
The lawyers have also announced strike for Wednesday and Thursday, adding that they would protest at Deputy Commissioner Office on Thursday morning.
Earlier, the lawyers had blocked the road inside Mini-secretariat. Harish Narang, a senior advocate said that they will continue with the protest till their demands are met.
